Minor Attacks Father Over Haircut Dispute in Balasore, Odisha

Bhubaneswar, April 13:In a troubling incident, a minor boy allegedly attacked his father with a sharp weapon following an argument over a haircut in Belbaria village under Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday.
According to sources, the boy, a Class 10 student, had returned home with a new hairstyle that reportedly displeased his father, Keshab Mohanty. The disagreement quickly escalated, leading to a confrontation in which the boy allegedly struck his father with a sharp object, resulting in injuries.
As of the time this report was filed, no formal complaint had been lodged with the police.
The incident has stirred concern in the local community, with many alarmed by the growing generational divide and the influence of contemporary fashion trends on youth behavior.
While residents were reluctant to speak on record, there was evident unease about the increasing frequency of family disputes rooted in cultural and value differences.
