Morigaon/Assam ,  Sep 8 : Following the official declaration of the Bye-Election schedule for the Nagaon Lok Sabha Constituency by the Election Commission of India (ECI), an Election Review Meeting was held today at the Conference Hall of the Office of the District Commissioner, Morigaon.

It may be noted that the Election Commission of India has scheduled 6 October 2026 as the date of polling and 9 October 2026 as the date of counting of votes for the Nagaon Lok Sabha bye-election.

Today’s review meeting was chaired by District Commissioner Smt. Srishti Singh,  During the meeting, the District Commissioner directed all administrative, police, and departmental officers to strictly enforce the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) across Morigaon district. She also reiterated the importance of ensuring a transparent, inclusive and voter-friendly electoral process, with all necessary arrangements being put in place well in advance of the polling date

Senior Superintendent of Police  Nishant Saurabh, ; District Development Commissioner Smt. Orpah Baglari,; Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Shri Satyajit Chetia; along with Co-District Commissioners, Additional District Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, Block Development Officers, and key officials from police and concerned line departments were present in the meeting.
