Nabarangpur MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi Extends Support to Norwester Victims, Provides Immediate Aid

Malkangiri, June 04,2023 :Nabarangpur MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi displayed a compassionate gesture as he met with the families affected by a recent Norwester in the region today. The calamitous storm led to unfortunate incidents, including the capsizing of a boat, claiming the lives of two individuals, and the collapse of an airstrip wall, resulting in the loss of two more lives.
Accompanied by former MLA Manas Madkami, BJD Secretary Gopal Krushna Ponda, and ZP Chairman Somari Tangul, MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi personally visited the affected families to offer his condolences and support during this challenging time.
During the visit, MP Majhi handed over immediate financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- to each bereaved family. He assured them to provide further assistance , by facilitating a financial aid of Rs. 4 lakhs from the Chief Minister’s relief fund. This substantial amount aims to provide crucial support and help alleviate some of the financial burdens that the affected families may be facing.
Expressing his deepest sympathies, MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi emphasized the government’s commitment to standing by the victims during such crises. He pledged to continue advocating for additional support from the administration to aid the affected families in their recovery.
The tragic incidents caused by the Norwester have not only left the affected families in grief but have also caused significant damage to the region’s infrastructure. MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi assured that he would raise these concerns with the appropriate authorities to ensure the necessary repairs and restoration are undertaken promptly.
