BHUBANESWAR, DEC. 30: Ahead of the New Year 2023, the Odisha government on Friday announced a hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for the state government employees.

As per the notification, the state government has increased the dearness allowance by four per cent. The hike in DA for the government employees and pensioners was approved by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The hike in DA will be effective retrospectively from July 1, 2022, the official notification read.

Earlier in September, the Odisha government had announced a hike in dearness allowance (DA) in favour of State Government Employees, covered under the Odisha Revised Scale of Pay (ORSP) Rules, 2017.

The decision to increase the dearness allowance by three per cent to 34 per cent from the existing 31 per cent was taken after considering the overall financial resources and fiscal target stipulated under Odisha Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act, 2005.
