Noida vegetable vendor thrashed, paraded naked over loan of Rs 3,000; 2 arrested
NEW DELHI,SEPT 20: Noida police arrested two miscreants who allegedly thrashed a vegetable vendor and paraded him naked in the market for not paying a loan of Rs 3,000. Police took action after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
The incident happened in Noida Sector 88 Mandi.
In the video, a man can be seen being beaten up with sticks by some miscreants, then stripped naked and paraded in the market. After the video went viral, Noida Police intervened and registered a case based on the victim’s complaint.
The victim, Amit, originally hails from Mainpuri, and works as a vegetable vendor in Noida Phase 2 market.

Amit had borrowed some Rs 5,600 from a person named Sundar. He returned Rs 2,500 but asked for time till Sunday to pay the remaining money later.
Sundar, furious at the request, called up his friends and beat up Amit for not paying the loan in time. The group then stripped him naked and paraded him around the market.
After the video went viral, the police started looking for the accused and arrested two of them. The remaining accused are absconding. An investigation is underway.
