Odia Cultural Association of Belgium Celebrates Pre-Diwali Gathering in Brussels

Brussels, Belgium/ Bhubaneswar , Oct 27: The Odia Cultural Association of Belgium proudly hosted a vibrant pre-Diwali meet, bringing together over 100 members of the Prabasi Odia community from Belgium and Luxembourg. The event, held in Brussels, served as a festive occasion to celebrate the rich culture and traditions of Odisha.
The evening commenced with the ceremonial lighting of diyas and a heartfelt worship of Lord Jagannath, symbolizing the spirit of togetherness and devotion. Attendees were treated to an array of cultural performances, with highlights including mesmerizing Odishi dance and an energetic Sambalpuri dance presented by a talented ladies group.
Since its establishment in 2022, the Odia Cultural Association of Belgium has been committed to fostering a sense of community among Odias in Central Europe. Earlier this year, the association successfully organized events such as Utkal Divas and Raja, reinforcing its mission to unite and celebrate Odia culture.
“We are thrilled to see such a wonderful turnout for our pre-Diwali celebration,” said a spokesperson from the association. “Events like these not only strengthen our bonds as a community but also keep our rich cultural heritage alive, especially for the younger generations.”
