The visit is part of a strategic effort to present Odisha’s industrial potential to global investors in Singapore
Bhubaneswar, Nov. 16: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi departed for Singapore on Saturday, marking his first international trip aimed at securing foreign investments ahead of the ‘Utkarsh Odisha 2025’ summit, scheduled for January 28-29 in Bhubaneswar.
Addressing the media at the Bhubaneswar airport, CM Majhi expressed optimism about showcasing Odisha as a premier investment hub.
“With the blessings of Lord Jagannath and the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I am leading a high-level delegation to position Odisha as one of the most favoured investment destinations in India,” he stated.
The visit is part of a strategic effort to present Odisha’s industrial potential to global investors in Singapore, particularly in sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, green energy, logistics, shipbuilding, and electronics. During the trip, the delegation will visit cutting-edge facilities like Tuas Port, Jurong Petrochemical Complex, and ITEES Singapore to study advanced systems and explore their implementation in Odisha.
Highlighting the state’s advantages, the Chief Minister said, “Odisha offers abundant natural resources, a skilled workforce, and progressive industrial policies. We are open for business and ready to play a pivotal role in India’s growth story.”
In addition to engaging with investors, CM Majhi plans to connect with the Odia diaspora in Singapore and neighboring ASEAN countries.
“Our overseas community has been instrumental in promoting Odia culture and fostering stronger ties between Singapore and Odisha,” he remarked.
The visit is anticipated to unlock significant investment opportunities across multiple sectors, creating new avenues for employment and economic growth. The delegation’s efforts are a key step in Odisha’s preparations for the upcoming biennial investors’ summit.
