Odisha: Youth kills two fellow villagers after brawl over chicken feast

Bhubaneswar, Dec. 19: The Odisha police on Monday arrested a person on charges of killing two of his fellow villagers over a trifling argument at Amarudhi village in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
The deceased were identified as Sadhucharan Burweli (24) and Janka Sundhi (45) of Amarudhi village, while the accused is Jura Munda (35) of the same village.
Reports said Sadhucharan and Janka suddenly went missing on Saturday night. Their family members launched a frantic search for them but could not trace them.
The mystery behind their disappearance came to the fore after Jura surrendered before the police on Sunday night. During interrogation, he revealed that he had killed them.
According to police, Sadhucharan and Janka had a confrontation with Jura over a chicken feast. They left the place after a verbal duel with him. However, Jura nurtured a grudge against them. On Saturday night, he hacked the duo to death.
To avoid police action, Jura dumped the bodies in a village rivulet. On Sunday night, he surrendered at K Balang Police Station following which the bodies were recovered. The accused, after interrogation, was declared arrested on Monday.
Later, he was produced in a local court which sent him to judicial custody.
