OSRTC Nodal Committee Meeting Held at Zilla Parishad to Enhance District Bus Service

Malkangiri,9th August,2024:-A district-level meeting was held today at the Zilla Parishad Conference Hall to discuss the bus service system in the district. The OSRTC Nodal Committee, led by Shri Laxmikant Sethi, Additional Secretary of the Commerce and Transport Department, reviewed the current status of bus services. The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including Malkangiri MLA Narsingh Madkami, ADM Vedabar Pradhan, Zilla Parishad CDO cum EO Naresh Chandra Sabar, and Sub Collector Duryadhan Bhoi.
Shri Sethi highlighted the success of rural transport services under the Digital Command Control (DCC) model implemented by the PTE Commission since October 12, 2023. He emphasized the ongoing efforts to restore bus stands across all blocks and stressed the importance of maintaining bus services effectively. The meeting also proposed extending bus services to remote areas, including the Swaviman area.
Malkangiri MLA Narsingh Madkami assured that public transport services in the district would be prioritized to prevent any inconvenience. Shri Sabar called for coordinated efforts among all departments and stakeholders to improve transportation services. The meeting, held under the direction of Chief Administrative Secretary Usha Padhi.The meeting was attended by BDOs from various blocks, district officials, and OSRTC Manager Bibhu Prasad Tripathi.
