Mumbai, Oct. 29: The Odisha State Session at India Maritime Week 2025 highlighted Paradip Port Authority’s (PPA) strategic initiatives to drive maritime and industrial growth, as the port signed five major Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth over Rs2,300 crore with key partners from government and industry.
The agreements, announced on October 27, aim to enhance port connectivity, coastal tourism, logistics infrastructure, and green energy initiatives—cementing Odisha’s position as an emerging maritime hub on India’s east coast.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended the event and visited the Paradip Port Authority’s exhibition stall, where he was received by P. L. Haranadh, Chairman, PPA. The Chief Minister reviewed ongoing projects and discussed the proposed Bahuda Port, the Puri Cruise Terminal, and Paradip’s expanding role in advancing India’s Blue Economy.
Among the five MoUs signed, the Puri Cruise Terminal Project (Rs500 crore) between PPA and the Odisha Maritime Board aims to develop coastal tourism and passenger connectivity. The Bahuda Port Rail Connectivity Project (Rs1,000 crore), inked with Paradip Railway Corporation Ltd., will strengthen cargo evacuation infrastructure.
In addition, PPA partnered with Indian Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation Ltd. for a Rs300-crore Maritime Museum and Logistics Park, designed to boost both heritage tourism and trade efficiency. A Rs280-crore Cargo Export/Import Project with IFFCO will support fertilizer trade and logistics, while the Rs263-crore Green Hydrogen Mobility Project with NTPC underscores Paradip’s shift toward clean energy and sustainable port operations.
“These strategic collaborations reflect PPA’s commitment to innovation and sustainable development in line with the Government of India’s Maritime India Vision 2030,” said Chairman Haranadh, emphasizing the port’s focus on technology-driven and inclusive growth.
With these initiatives, Paradip Port continues to expand its footprint as a key player in India’s maritime transformation, anchoring Odisha’s growing prominence in global trade and green logistics.
