MUMBAI, OCT 18: The Mumbai Traffic Police have received a threatening message demanding Rs 5 crore in extortion money from Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The message claimed to resolve his ongoing conflict with imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

The sender, allegedly connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, warned that Salman Khan’s life would be in jeopardy if the extortion money was not paid.

According to the Mumbai police, “A threatening message has been received on the WhatsApp number of the Mumbai Traffic Police, demanding Rs 5 crore from actor Salman Khan to end his long-standing rivalry with Lawrence Bishnoi.”

The message further stated, “Don’t take it lightly. If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and wishes to end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, then he will have to pay Rs 5 crore. If the money is not given, Salman Khan’s condition will be worse than Baba Siddique’s.”

The Mumbai Police are taking the matter very seriously and have launched an investigation into the case. This incident follows the recent murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead outside his office in Nirmal Nagar on October 12.

He sustained two gunshot wounds to the chest and was taken to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital for emergency treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.

In connection with the murder, the Mumbai Police had issued a look-out circular (LOC) for Shiv Kumar Gautam and Zeeshan Akhtar, who are believed to have shot Siddique.

The police initially issued the LOC against Shubham Lonkar and have since expanded it to include these two suspects as well, as authorities fear they might flee to Nepal. Information about the accused has been shared at every border and airport, with searches for them ongoing.

Zeeshan Siddique, the son of the late NCP leader, has demanded justice for his father and appealed for his father’s death not to be politicised or allowed to go in vain.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reiterated on Wednesday that those responsible for such crimes would be held accountable and not go unpunished. “No one will be spared. Strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty,” the Maharashtra CM stated.

So far, the Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested four individuals connected to the case, while three remain at large, with police actively searching for them.
