PPT observed World Diabetes Day

Paradip,Nov. 15: As part of Amrit Mahotsav, the World Diabetes Day was observed at PPT Hospital on 14.11.2021 with the theme “Access to Diabetes Care, if, not now, when”.

Shri P.L. Haranadh Inaugurated the event in presence of Shri A.K. Bose, Deputy Chairman, PPT, Smt. Girija Haranadh, President, Paradip Ladies Club, Smt. Suchismita Bose, Vice-President, Paradip Ladies Club, HoDs, officers and employees. On this occasion, a walkathon was organised to create awareness about health problems among the denizens of the Port township. Shri P.L. Haranadh, Chairman, PPT, flagged off the awareness walkathon, in which the doctors, paramedical staff of the PPT Hospital along with HoDs of the PPT, CISF personnel and general public participated with enthusiasm. IEC activities and clinic for screening of diabetes, heart disease, Orthopaedics, Hypertension, Bone MINERAL Density, HbA1C, glaucoma were also conducted on the occasion in association with AMRI, Utkal Hospital, CARE Hospital and KIDS.

Later, a seminar was organised on diabetes awareness at the Hospital Conference Hall. 140 people were screened for diabetes and its complications like neuropathy, eye problem etc. and necessary advice given.
