Rajendra University-Bolangir celebrates of 4th Foundation Day

Balangir, Sept. 1:– The Fourth Foundation Day of Rajendra University,Balangir was celebrated at Conference Hall of the new Academic Block of the University on Sunday.There was a formal ceremony meeting held to commemorate the day.
The programme started with garlanding the statue of the founder of the institution Honourable King Rajendra Narayan Singhdeo. Then there was a meeting chaired by Prof.Dr. Uma Ballabha Mahapatra, Vice-Chancellor of the University in which Prof.Dr. Sabita Acharya Vice-chancellor of Utkal University joined as the honourable guest along with internationally known artist Padmashri Kailash Chandra Meher.
Vice-Chancellor in his address briefed about the achievements of the University and gave the roadmap of the University outlining how to make the University a hub of knowledge in future.
Prof. Sabita Acharya spoke of the challenges of life and how to utilise time and energy in order to gain knowledge and possess the spirit to creativity. She motivated the students by saying that they would feel themselves responsible for the society and be engaged in nation building. Padma Shri Kailash Chandra Meher, the other honourable guest spoke of his experiences as an artist. He talked about how to take life as an art and remain committed to achieving excellence in approaching the tasks. He also talks of the role of concentration and steady learning which would inculcate among the students values, verities and creativity matching the national and international requirements.
The meeting started with Vedic chants followed by welcome address by Dr.P.K.Dash. Then, the Registrar of the University Mr. Judhisthir Nayak presented the Annual Report and Post Graduate Council Chair person Dr.Raj kishor Patra addressed the audience.Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor felicitated Prof.Sabita Acharya whereas the Registered felicitated Mr. Meher.
The meeting ended with the vote of thanks given by the Dr. Susanta Kumar Panda, HoD Odia Department.The University authorities expressed acknowledgements for the presence of the invitees from the locality,alumni of the University, representatives from the affiliated Colleges,staff members,students and media personnel to celebrate the occasion successfully. The second edition of Prajnajyoti the University magazine was released on this occasion.
There was an impressive cultural Programme in the afternoon in which the students and faculty members participated.
