Bhubaneswar, July 19:  A school health camp was successfully organised on Friday at Government Primary School, Tangarsahi by Subhadra Coal Mining Ltd. (SCML), a part of the Aditya Birla Group, as part of its ongoing community outreach initiatives. The event was held in collaboration with the Smile Foundation’s Mobile Medical Team.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from the headmaster Ashok Gangasahi, students and faculty members of the school, and was graced by several dignitaries including Mr. Gobardhan Mallick, Mrs. Subhrata Subhadarsini, Mr. Siva Sahu, Mr. Sanjiv Tripathy, and Mr. Surjit Sharma, along with other officials from SCML. Special invitees to the event included Ms. Priyanka Priyadarshini Muduli, Community Health Officer from the Ayushman Arogya Mandir Health Subcentre, Mrs. Priyanka Barik, President, and Mr. Kumuda Chandra Sahu, Ward Member of Kaunsidipa Village.

As part of the programme, students were sensitised on critical aspects of health and hygiene including cleanliness, sanitation, physical activity, balanced diet, and nutrition. The Smile Foundation’s medical team carried out haemoglobin testing and Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments, helping in early detection of potential health issues among the children.

To further promote personal hygiene, hygiene kits were distributed to all students at the conclusion of the session. The initiative was appreciated by the local community and reaffirmed SCML’s commitment to improving the well-being of the region’s youth through meaningful CSR interventions.
