Senior woman geologist found murdered at her residence in Bengaluru, probe on
BENGALURU,NOV 5: A 45-year-old woman, who was working as a senior geologist with the Department of Mines and Geology was found allegedly murdered at her residence in Doddakallasandra under the Subramanyapura police station limits.
The incident took place during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The news came to light around 8:30 am on Sunday when the neighbours informed the police.
The investigation officer said the incident happened between 8 pm to 8 am as the deceased, Prathima KS was reportedly at her office located on the 13th floor of VV Towers near Vidhana Soudha till 6:30 pm.
Prathima had been staying alone in a two-storied independent house near Gokulam apartment complex in Doddakallasandra. For the last 10 years, she has been staying at the same residence while her husband has been reportedly staying in Thirthahalli in Shivamogga.
The officer mentioned that Prathima’s body was found on the floor with her throat slit. “Prima facie it was found that no valuables were reportedly missing from her house, but we are yet to investigate the motive,” he added.
A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) arrived on the spot to collect samples. A case of murder has been registered with Subramanyapura police station. Further investigation is underway.
Reacting to a question on the incident, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Mysuru said the murder will be inquired into and the reason is not yet known.
“I just got to know about it. We will inquire into it. It seems that she was staying alone (in Bengaluru), while her husband was in his native village. The reason is not yet known, we will inquire into it,” he said.
