Shades of Elections: Sambalpur wears a new look now with colourful posters, banners dotting lanes and by-lanes

Sambalpur, May 6: Sambalpur, the nerve centre of Western Odisha, is now witnessing a blend of colors, music, and gatherings by political parties. The increase in poll heat is shifting major focus to the western part of the state.
Two big names of political parties, Pranab Prakash Das from BJD and Dharmendra Pradhan from BJP are risking their careers to fight a battle of honor in Sambalpur.
Sambalpur holds a significant in Odisha politics. Political parties are putting forth their best efforts to win that seat. As the days draw nearer, the election campaign is accelerating with full force.
The city seemed to be dressed with big posters and banners everywhere. The lanes and bylanes of the urban area are occupied by signs and symbols of political parties.
Leaders are trying their utmost efforts to gain public attention. Starting from performing rituals at temples to addressing people at local gatherings, parties leave no stone unturned to gather public support.
The city is buzzing with sounds of the election campaign. This time the major focus has been placed of Sambalpuri music, Dhol, Nisan and Tasa instead of modern high decibel speakers and microphones. Every now and then, traditional rituals are being performed in key areas of the district. Thousands of supporters are coming on flags with parties’ flags and raising slogans, in order to support their political parties.
Amidst the leaders once again promising the dreams of a better life and development, It will be quite fascinating to observe to see whom the people believe and choose their leader.
