Shocking Incident: 1-yr-old girl dies after falling into borewell pit in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore, Feb. 11: A one-year-old girl died after falling into a borewell pit at Goapala village in Balasore district on Thursday morning.
The victim was identified as Sarojini Naik, daughter of one Saniya Naik of the village.
As per reports, Sarojini’s mother had come to visit her relative’s house at Goapala few days ago.
On Thursday morning, while the digging of the borewell was underway near the house, Sarojini who was playing nearby, fell into the well accidentally.
Some people present at the spot noticed her slipping into the borewell pit and immediately called for help. Neighbours and her family members rushed to the spot and rescued her from the well.
Though she was later taken to Khaira Hospital, the doctors declared her dead on arrival, added reports.
A pall of gloom descended on the village following the death of the baby girl.
On being informed, the local Khaira police reached the hospital and seized the body.
The body was sent for post-mortem.
