Bhubaneswar, June 6: After serious drubbing in the recently concluded general elections, senior leaders of the party have started opening up about the reasons behind the party’s poor performance.
After former minister and veteran BJD leader Arun Kumar Sahoo, another senior leader of the party – Shashi Bhusan Behera on Thursday gave an explosive statement about the party’s defeat in the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
According to Behera, keeping the senior leaders of the party away from election management was one of the major reasons behind the defeat.
“Keeping senior leaders of the party away during election campaigns is one of the main reasons behind BJD’s debacle in the recently concluded elections. People just couldn’t accept it,” said Behera.
“The election result has surprised one and all. There were some faults in the election management. BJD will introspect and find the reason behind the setback,” he added.
