Malkangiri Odisha: In a recent press conference, Director Intelligence Sri.Sanjeev Kumar Ponda, Addl.Director Operation Sri.Amitabh Thakur,DIG SIW Sri.Annirudha Singh ,DIG Koraput Sri.Rajesh Pandit and SP Malkangiri Sri.Nitesh Wadwani announced that the police and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Malkangiri have seized a large number of articles belonging to Maoist rebels from Kirimiti and Putuapadar of Kartanpalli GP ,Tulasi Pahad area under Mathili PS.

The operation was conducted on a tip-off received by the police regarding the presence of Maoist materials in the area.

They seized 113 articles including One Pistol, BGL- 6 nos,.303 ball Amunations-50, SLR Rifle -01, Countrymade Gun-03 , Tiffin Bomb-15, Detonators, Gilletins, Keypad mobile phone, Dresses, Medicine and other items used by the Maoists. The operation was conducted in a coordinated manner, with the participation of both the police and the SOG.

According to the police, the seized materials are believed to have been used by the Maoists in their activities in the region. The operation is seen as a major success in the fight against Maoist activities in Malkangiri district.

The operation is a clear indication of the police’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the people in Malkangiri district and is a big blow to the Maoist activities in the region.
