Teacher, students recalls Maulana Azad’s legacy in Indian education

Malkangiri,12th November 2025: Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the nation’s first Education Ministers contribution to Indian education remains immense .He was instrumental in the establishment of premier institutions such as the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore.He also played a significant role in strengthening the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and promoting research and scientific learning, remarked Dr.Kishor Kumar Dash while addressing the students in Balimela College of Science & Technology in a meeting held on the eve of National Education Day yesterday to commemorate Maulana Azad’s birth day. Speaking on the occasion Principal Subash Chandra Majhi and faculty Purosottam Samrath told that the day reminds us that education is not just about academic achievement but about fostering critical thinking, innovation, and social progress.A debate competition was held on the occasion and the winners were given away prizes.
