Consumer outreach across four locations focused on benefits, subsidies and application guidance under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana

Baleshwar,  Oct.7: TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) participated in Seva Setu Camps organised under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in Baleshwar and Baliapal block in Baleshwar district, Thakurmunda block in Mayurbhanj district, and Tihidi block in Bhadrak district. The camps provided households with accessible information and practical guidance on adopting rooftop solar under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Through various awareness initiatives and Seva Setu Camps, in a day over 400 consumers across the five districts have registered for the scheme.

Consumers interacted directly with TPNODL’s Solar and Customer Service teams, banking partners and business associates to understand the scheme’s benefits, eligibility criteria, government subsidies, documentation requirements and application process. These interactions enabled consumers to have their queries addressed and understand the steps involved in rooftop solar adoption.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Dushyant Kumar Tyagi, CEO, TPNODL, said, “Clear information and practical support are key to rooftop solar adoption. Through Seva Setu Camps and Solar Rath initiatives, we are bringing scheme guidance and technical assistance closer to households. With the continued support of the district administration and our stakeholders, we remain committed to accelerating the clean energy transition across Northern Odisha.”

In Baleshwar, Seva Setu Camp was organised on the occasion of the Seva Sankalp Yatra. It was visited by Mr. Pratap Chandra Sarangi, MP, Baleshwar; Mr. Manas Kumar Dutta, MLA, Baleshwar Sadar; Mr. Santosh Khatua, MLA, Nilagiri; Mr. A. Shyam Prasad Rao, Chief Program Manager, and Mr. Gulshan Kumar from REC Limited, along with senior TPNODL officials, including Mr. Pradeep Kumar Mohanty, Chief – Projects, and Mr. Rajib Kumar Nayak, Chief Engineer – Solarization, among others.

At Baliapal, Mrs. Subhasini Jena, MLA, Basta, and Mr. Radharanjan Das, BDO, Baliapal, joined local representatives and TPNODL officials in engaging with consumers. At Thakurmunda and Tihidi camps, local public representatives and government officials, along with TPNODL officials, interacted with the consumers and highlighted the benefits of rooftop solar adoption under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

The initiative provided households with an opportunity to understand PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, have their queries addressed and explore rooftop solar options for their homes. Interested consumers have been advised to contact TPNODL’s call centre on 1800 3456 718 or 1912, or visit their nearest electricity office for guidance on eligibility, applicable subsidies and the application process.
