Tripura: 6 dead, several injured as live wire falls on chariot during Rath Yatra

Tripura,June 28: At least 6 people died and several others were injured after a live wire fell on a chariot made of iron in Tripura’s Unakoti district on Wednesday, June 28. According to initial inputs, two children were among those who lost their lives.
The procession was being taken out in the Choumuhani area in Unakoti when a live wire fell on the chariot, on which at least 20 people were mounted. Six people died of electrocution and several others were injured.
The chariot also caught fire due to which some people were injured. The casualties are expected to rise.
The injured were taken to the Kumarghat Hospital. From there, they were referred to the Unakoti District Hospital.
