Balasore, Feb 8 :True love knows no reason, no boundaries, no distance, Love, they say, knows no boundaries and barriers.
It can scale top hurdles and penetrate the strong walls to arrive at its destination. Love only speaks to heart and soul over caste, creed, colour and any community.
It is evident from a true relationship between a highly qualified youth and a divyang young woman of Bahanaga area in Balasore.
The long love affairs of the young couple finally took an emotional turn in the form of marriage recently. Maheswar Mallik of Jiritala village under Kasaba Jayapur panchayat in Bahanaga, who is an engineer by profession, was in a relationship with the deaf and dumb girl Rukmani Mallik of Kochiakoili village in the same locality. Though Rukmani failed to express anything in words, her indication says a thousand words for Maheswar who loves her like anything.
After a long three years of relationship, they wanted to tie the nuptial knot. Maheswar first gave the proposal to his parents who initially rejected it. But his father was convinced later and gave the nod for their wedding.
“She (Rukmani) came to our house earlier at a family function and stayed with us for two days. During that time, my son fell in love with her and sought my consent to marry her. Initially, I opposed the proposal due to her disabilities. Later, I agreed and solemnized the marriage.
I am always happy with the happiness of my children. I promise that I would always support my Divyang daughter-in-law forever,” said Buddhia Mallik, father of the groom.
With the approval all family members, Maheswar married his divyang girlfriend in a traditional manner in the presence of the members of both families. People from around the block also gathered at the wedding venue to witness the special event.

“I married her after a long love affair. I will never stay away from her.” Though the newly-wed bride failed to express her happiness, her physical expression at the wedding venue implied how much happy she was.
