Utkal Hospital Marks National Bone and Joint Day with Community Awareness Drive

Bhubaneswar, Aug 7: Utkal Hospital commemorated National Bone and Joint Day with a high-impact awareness programme aimed at promoting musculoskeletal health, especially among senior citizens and retired professionals. The event was spearheaded by Dr. Dibya Singh Das, Senior Consultant – Orthopaedics, a renowned expert and pioneer in Robotic Joint Replacement in Odisha.
Over 70 retired officers participated in the event, reflecting strong community engagement and growing public trust in Utkal Hospital’s healthcare initiatives.
Dr. Dibya Singh Das delivered the keynote address on “Bone Health in the Golden Years: Prevention, Lifestyle and Early Care.” Drawing from his extensive clinical experience, he highlighted the importance of early diagnosis, lifestyle modification, and regular screening to prevent long-term bone and joint complications.

The programme was graced by eminent personalities, including Mr. Rabi Kumar, Olympian and fitness advocate, who emphasized the value of physical activity in maintaining joint health. Mr. Manoranjan Mishra, senior journalist and social commentator, spoke on the power of awareness in preventive healthcare and lauded Utkal Hospital’s proactive role.
Adding clinical depth to the event, Dr. R.K. Mohapatra, Director – Orthopaedics, spoke on “Advancements in Joint Replacement & Mobility Restoration,” shedding light on how robotics and modern techniques are transforming patient outcomes.
