Noble Move: Vedanta Lanjigarh launches digital health cards for patients visiting Vedanta Hospital
The card was launched at an event with the newly elected panchayat representatives from Lanjigarh and Muniguda blocks of Kalahandi

Lanjigarh (Odisha), Nov. 24: Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh, India’s premier producer of metallurgical grade alumina, has launched a digital health card for patients visiting the Vedanta Hospital in Lanjigarh, Kalahandi district (Odisha). The card features a Quick Response (QR) code which can be scanned to track the patient’s complete history of healthcare facilities availed at the hospital, including records of test reports, prescriptions, and X-Ray reports. In such a remote region, this will help patients and their doctors access faster, better healthcare by enabling quicker, ready reference to their medical history digitally.
The digital health card will be issued to every individual choosing to avail of medical service from the Vedanta Hospital and will become a mandatory document for all beneficiaries. This is a first of its kind initiative at the facility and will help ensure a seamless experience for the more than 60,000 people who seek quality healthcare at the Vedanta Hospital each year.
The health card was launched by Vedanta Lanjigarh in the presence of the newly elected panchayat representatives from Lanjigarh and Muniguda blocks of Kalahandi. Vedanta Lanjigarh’s leadership highlighted the several measures the company has taken towards the development of the district and plans for the future. Appreciating the transformational impact Vedanta has had in the various villages under their blocks, the representatives put forward more suggestions towards bettering sustainable livelihood opportunities for the community so as to improve their quality of life further.
Launching the digital health card, Mr GG Pal, Dy. Vedanta Lanjigarh’s health card initiative is in line with the National Digital Health Card launched under the pilot project of the National Digital Health Mission by the Government of India. The Vedanta Hospital, Lanjigarh has also been recently recognized as an Employers Utilization Dispensary, under the ESIC Scheme, an acknowledgement of the affordable yet excellent quality of its services.
