Balasore, July 6: of Balasore Town Police Station inspector Sarojini Nayak has allegedly gone missing after charges of corruption were leveled against her.

“The inspector Sarojini Nayak is not responding to our phone calls. Even in most of the times her phone remains switched off,” informed Balasore SP Sudhanshu Sekhar Mishra.

Mishra said that he doesn’t have proper information on whether she has taken leave and claimed that he has sought a report on this account.

“Balasore Town Police Station Sub Inspector Bimal Kar was caught red-handed by Vigilance Department sleuths on July 1 while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 from a middleman to settle a land dispute. Both Kar and the middleman have been arrested and sent to jail. Ever since then despite attempts by departmental officers to contact IIC Sarojini Nayak she remains untraceable. She is not cooperating in the investigation,” said Balasore Vigilance SP Santosh Kumar Mishra.

Sarojini will be served notice through Balasore SP, Mishra added.
