BHUBANESWAR, MARCH 25: There seems to be no respite from scorching heat as temperatures across Odisha is soaring above 40 degree Celsius in several cities and towns during the day time. This situation will continue for quite some time, officials of Regional Meteorological Department said on Saturday.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, Malkangiri in south Odisha recorded the highest temperature of 40.6 degree Celsius followed by Titlgarh (40.5).<\/p>\n
While Sonepur in western Odisha reeled under 40 degree Celsius, temperature rose above 39 degree Celsius in towns such Hirakud, Bolangir, Angul \u00a0and Jharsuguda.<\/p>\n
On Friday, seven towns in the state recorded maximum temperature of above 40 degree Celsius on Friday.<\/p>\n
According to the officials of meteorological department, the mercury is likely to hover between 39 and 40 degree Celsius while the weather will most remain dry for the next couple of days.<\/p>\n
However, rain and thunder storm is likely to occur in some parts of coastal and adjoining districts of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj in the next 24 hours.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
