{"id":155290,"date":"2026-08-31T22:43:50","date_gmt":"2026-08-31T17:13:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/indusvalleytimes.com\/news\/?p=155290"},"modified":"2026-08-31T22:43:52","modified_gmt":"2026-08-31T17:13:52","slug":"nalco-posts-record-fy26-performance-plans-major-capacity-expansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/indusvalleytimes.com\/news\/nalco-posts-record-fy26-performance-plans-major-capacity-expansion\/","title":{"rendered":"NALCO posts record FY26 performance, plans major capacity expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"caps\"><strong>Aluminium major approves Rs 183.66 crore final dividend; focuses on refinery, bauxite, smelter and captive power expansion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By Sukant Mohanty<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bhubaneswar, Aug. 31: <\/strong>National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO) reported its highest-ever operational and financial performance in FY2025-26, as the state-run aluminium producer steps up investments in capacity expansion and critical minerals to meet rising domestic demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addressing the company\u2019s 45th annual general meeting on Monday, NALCO Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Brijendra Pratap Singh said the company achieved record performance across key operational parameters during the year, resulting in its highest-ever revenue from operations, profit before tax and profit after tax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NALCO also recorded peak sales in major segments, including domestic alumina and aluminium metal, underscoring the company\u2019s strong operating performance amid a favourable demand outlook for aluminium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company\u2019s shareholders approved a final dividend of Rs 1 per equity share, involving a payout of Rs 183.66 crore. This is in addition to the interim dividend of Rs 10.50 per share, amounting to Rs 1,928.46 crore, paid by the company in three tranches during FY26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Singh said the outlook for aluminium demand in India remained positive and was expected to maintain a strong growth trajectory. NALCO is consequently pursuing a series of expansion projects aimed at increasing its production capacity and strengthening its position across the aluminium value chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company\u2019s key projects include the fifth stream expansion of its alumina refinery at Damanjodi, development of the Pottangi bauxite mines, augmentation of captive coal capacity and expansion of the aluminium smelter and captive power plant at Angul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Singh also highlighted NALCO\u2019s plans to strengthen its presence in critical minerals and focus on resource and energy security, circular economy initiatives, digital transformation, waste-to-wealth projects and renewable energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These initiatives, he said, are intended to improve the company\u2019s competitiveness and operational resilience while creating sustainable long-term value for shareholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Describing FY26 as a landmark year, Singh attributed NALCO\u2019s record performance to the resilience of its operations, strategic planning and the collective efforts of its workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe record performance of FY 2025\u201326 is a collective achievement. Behind every milestone achieved by NALCO is the commitment, capability and collective spirit of its people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AGM was conducted through video conferencing and attended by NALCO\u2019s functional directors, independent director, chief vigilance officer, senior officials of the Ministry of Mines and the company secretary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Singh expressed gratitude to the Union ministry of mines and the Odisha government for their continued support, while also acknowledging the role of local administrations and communities around NALCO\u2019s operational areas in facilitating the company\u2019s growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also thanked employees, contractual workers, shareholders, investors, customers, suppliers, business associates, consultants and joint-venture
