Youth found dead during birthday party in Bhubaneswar hotel; family alleges murder by friends
Bhubaneswar, March 26: In a bone-chilling incident, a youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a hotel in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Durga Prasad Mishra of Jalaharpur village under Niali police limits.
As per reports, the deceased had come to the hotel to celebrate the birthday of one of his friends. Meanwhile, the deceased’s family members have alleged murder by his friends and lodged a written complaint with Khandagiri police in this connection.
According to family members, Durga along with his girlfriend and two friends had booked room for the birthday party. Later, he was found hanging in the room. Family members suspect his other friends of calling him to the birthday party and killing him in a pre-planned manner.
“We were informed that he was no more. We rushed to the hospital after getting the news. But, we are sure it is not a case of suicide. There is surely some mystery behind his death. He had gone to attend the birthday party. So, we don’t know what happened at the birthday party,” informed Jitendra Das, the deceased’s brother-in-law.
“One of his friends said Durga got angry after they did not give him beer and went to another room. While another person said that he had gone to the bathroom and found him hanging subsequently,” Das added.
Similarly, the deceased’s sister Mithali Mishra alleged murder and demanded stringent action against those found guilty.
“My brother cannot return now. So, I demand justice and stringent action against the culprits. Three of his friends including his girlfriend were with him. They were at the hotel for a birthday party. The three people who were with him are suspects and I demand action against them,” said Mithali.
