BHUBANESWAR, MARCH 16: Strong resentment is brewing within Congress leaders in Odisha after a few senior leaders including Ananta Sethy and MLAs Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Jogesh Singh and Prafulla Majhi were dropped from the new list of All India Congress Committee (AICC) members that was released on Friday.<\/p>\n
However, 78 leaders from Odisha were included in the revised AICC list that was declared on Friday ahead of the three-day plenary session starting at New Delhi.<\/p>\n
Party sources said the new AICC members have been selected to strike a balance as both senior as well as young leaders have been included in team. However, the exclusion of a few heavyweights has led to resentment among party leaders in the State.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, senior Congress leaders Chiranjib Biswal, Kailash Kulesika, Krushna Chandra Sagaria have been selected as AICC members.<\/p>\n
Besides, Niranjan Patnaik, Suresh Routray, Kamakhya Prasad Singh Deo, Srikant Jena and Sushila Tiria have also been enlisted.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, sources said the AICC released another list of 20 co-opted members in which the disgruntled leaders were accommodated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
