HARYANA,JULY 3 : An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Haryana Police was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants while he was out on a stroll outside his home in Karnal. The victim has been identified as Sanjeev, posted to the State Crime Branch in Yamunanagar district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident occurred on Tuesday night in Kutail village, Karnal. The victim had undergone an operation recently, due to which he would return home early and used to go for a walk in the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of the two rounds of bullets fired at Sanjeev, one hit him on the head and the other on his waist. The assailants fled the spot soon after the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, but was declared dead on arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police are scanning CCTV footage of the area where the incident occurred in an effort to nab the accused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
