{"id":124882,"date":"2024-07-09T08:54:28","date_gmt":"2024-07-09T03:24:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/indusvalleytimes.com\/news\/?p=124882"},"modified":"2024-07-09T09:35:16","modified_gmt":"2024-07-09T04:05:16","slug":"pci-sub-committee-on-accreditation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indusvalleytimes.com\/news\/pci-sub-committee-on-accreditation\/","title":{"rendered":"PCI Sub-Committee on Accreditation on 3-day visit to Ahmedabad"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"caps\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">By Our Staff Reporter<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahmedabad, July 8: The Press Council of India\u2019s Sub-committee on Accreditation is on a three-day trip to Ahmedabad in Gujarat to assess the situation of accreditation and other related problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Committee members Jai Shankar Gupta (Delhi) Prasanna Mohanty (Bhubaneswar) Kingshuk Pramanik (Kolkata), L.C Bhartiya(Jaipur)and Dr Khaidem Authority (Imphal) arrived here on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During their three-day stay, committee members will have a series of meetings with top officials of the information and public relations department of Gujarat government. Also, the committee will have interactions with local journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In some states there is no existence of an accreditation committee. In some cases model accreditation rules framed by the Press Council of India are not being followed. Also in some states accreditation is being totally controlled by the government. PCI has constituted a sub-committee to study the situation and report accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meanwhile the Sub-Committee has visited Haryana, West Bengal, Punjab, Chandigarh, Assam,\u00a0\u00a0 Meghalaya and Tamil Nadu.
