NEW DELHI, SEPT 1 : The cost of commercial LPG cylinders has been increased from Sunday as the oil marketing companies announced a hike in prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rate for a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has been raised by Rs 39 from September 1, bringing the retail price to Rs 1,691.50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The revised rates have taken effect immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On August 1, the companies had announced an increase of Rs 8.50 for the 19 kg cylinder across the country, including in metro cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai. The price in Delhi had risen to Rs 1,652.50 from Rs 1,646, an increase of Rs 6.50. In Kolkata, the price increased by Rs 8.50, bringing the cost to Rs 1,764.50. In Mumbai, the price was Rs 1,605, while in Chennai, it stood at Rs 1,817.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The August increase followed a reduction of Rs 30 in July. The price in Delhi was then reduced to Rs 1,646 from Rs 1,676, and in Mumbai, it had dropped to Rs 1,598 from Rs 1,629.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After July’s reduction, the cost of a commercial LPG cylinder in Chennai was Rs 1,809, down from Rs 1,840. In Kolkata, the price was lowered to Rs 1,756 from Rs 1,787.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On June 1, the commercial LPG rate was decreased by around Rs 69, following a reduction of Rs 19 per cylinder on May 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
