{"id":127933,"date":"2024-09-14T16:35:59","date_gmt":"2024-09-14T11:05:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/indusvalleytimes.com\/news\/?p=127933"},"modified":"2024-09-14T16:36:00","modified_gmt":"2024-09-14T11:06:00","slug":"in-jajpurcase-filed-against-18-stone-quarry-lease-holders-under-opdr-act-to-recover-penalty-of-298-crores","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indusvalleytimes.com\/news\/in-jajpurcase-filed-against-18-stone-quarry-lease-holders-under-opdr-act-to-recover-penalty-of-298-crores\/","title":{"rendered":"In Jajpur;Case filed against 18 stone quarry\u00a0 lease holders\u00a0\u00a0 under OPDR Act to recover\u00a0 penalty of 298 crores"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"caps\">By Akshya Rout<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jajpur, Sept 14 : The office of Deputy Director Mines, Jajpur&nbsp; Circle&nbsp; filed certificate cases against 18 black-stone&nbsp; quarry lease holders of Dharmasala block in Jajpur district on Friday to recover 298 crores of penalty amount from them&nbsp;&nbsp; under the Odisha Public Demands Recovery Act (OPDR Act), 1962&nbsp; as they illegally over-extracted more stones beyond their lease areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;We filed certificate cases&nbsp; against 18 black-stone&nbsp; quarry lease holders&nbsp; before the collector , Jajpur as they did not pay 298 crores penalty which imposed on them by Revenue department last year&nbsp;&nbsp; on the charges of&nbsp; indulging in illegal black- stone quarrying&nbsp; at many&nbsp; hills under Dharamshala&nbsp;&nbsp; Tehsil in the&nbsp; district , said Jayaprakash Nayak the Deputy Director mines&nbsp; (Minor Minerals ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Dharmasala MLA Himanshu Sahoo that there have been massive irregularities in mining operations during the previous BJD government.
