Bhubaneswar, Sept. 17:<\/strong> Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday relished Kheer, also called Khir (milk rice), while initiating \u2018Gruha Prabvsha\u2019 (entry into newly built houses) of PM Awas beneficiaries at Shabara Sahi area of Gadakana village in Oisha Bhubaneswar on the occasion of his 74th birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018Kheer\u2019 was prepared by Antaryami Naik\u2019s daughter-in-law Sadhabi Naik in an earthen pot. As per the Odia custom, \u2018Kheer\u2019 is prepared during \u2018Gruha Prabesha.\u2019 Sadhabi served the \u2018Kheer\u2019 prepared by her to PM Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and both of them relished the sweet delicacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sadhabi and her family members were on cloud nine after PM Modi enjoyed \u2018Kheer\u2019 at their home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAll of our family members were ecstatic after PM Modi ate \u2018Kheer\u2019 prepared by me at our home. We requested him to eat \u2018Khiri\u2019 as it was his birthday. He accepted our request gladly and praised us by saying that the \u2018Kheer\u2019 was very delicious,\u201d said an elated Sadhabi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe also played with my children and allowed us to take photographs with him. He asked us whether we are happy  after getting a new pucca house under PM Awas Yojna or not and we expressed our pleasure,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, PM Modi also mentioned the incident in his speech at Janata Maidan during inauguration of Subhadra Yojana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBefore coming here, I went to the home of a tribal family to attend their \u2018Gruha Prabesh\u2019 event. My sister in that family gave me \u2018Khiri\u2019 to eat. And when I was eating that Khiri, it was obvious that I missed my mother,\u201d said PM Modi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen my mother was alive, I always used to visit her on my birthday to seek her blessings. My mother used to feed me \u2018Gud\u2019 (jaggery) by hand. She is not there anymore but my Adivasi mother fed me \u2018Kheeri\u2019 and gave me birthday blessings,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What impressed the villagers and crores of audience as they watched PM Modi worshipping Lord Jagannath at Naik\u2019s home like an ordinary man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
