JAMMU, DEC 8 : Two police personnel were found dead with bullet injuries early on Friday morning in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The officials were traveling from Sopore to a training center in Talwara, Udhampur The incident occurred at around 6:30 am, SSP Udhampur Amod Nagpure confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Initial investigation reveals that it is a case of fratricide and suicide, the police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Preliminary report suggested the two police personnel died after opening fire on each other, the official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A selection grade constable, who was also travelling in the vehicle, escaped unhurt and is being questioned, they said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Preliminary investigations reveal that an AK-47 rifle was used in the attack. Police officers have reached the scene to assess the situation,” SSP Nagpure said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bodies of the deceased officers will be taken to GMC Udhampur for postmortem and other formalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
