LUCKNOW, FEB 28 : A Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee from Agra reportedly died by suicide on Monday (February 24), leaving behind a video clip where he is seen accusing his wife of pushing him to take the extreme step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Manav Sharma, 30, who was employed at TCS as recruitment manager, was a resident of Defence Colony in Agra but had been based in Mumbai. According to police sources, he was married to Nikita Sharma on January 30 last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sadar, Agra, Vinayak Bhonsle, said a case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by Narendra Sharma, the father of the deceased, who is a retired IAF officer. Narendra Sharma also put a copy of his complaint on the CM portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The complaint states that the couple had visited Agra on February 23. They had gone to Nikita\u2019s home, where Manav was allegedly insulted. The techie returned home in a frustrated mental state and recorded the reasons for dying by suicide as a video statement, the complaint said, adding that he hung himself around 5 am on February 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the complaint, the deceased\u2019s father has claimed that Nikita had gone with Manav to Mumbai after marriage and initially all went well. However, in due course, she allegedly started having arguments with Manav while threatening to implicate the whole family in a false case. She allegedly used to threaten to leave Manav and live with her boyfriend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deceased, in the video clip, is seen blaming his wife. Urging authorities to \u201cthink about men who are very lonely,\u201d he is seen saying, \u201cDon\u2019t touch my parents after my death.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the 6.57-minute video went viral across social media platforms, his wife Nikita Sharma released a counter statement alleging that her husband was abusive, especially when in an inebriated state. She said that the allegations levelled against her by Manav were related to her pre-marital life. \u201cIt was my past and when he came to know about it, he started yelling and picking frequent fights. He used to drink a lot and had attempted suicide many times in the past as well,\u201d said Nikita, claiming that she managed to thwart at least three such bids earlier by Manav.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She also claimed that on the fateful day, she, upon seeing his photos on social media, alerted her sister-in-law Akanksha telling her to save Manav who was trying to end his life. \u201cBut she said ignore him and go to sleep,\u201d Nikita is seen claiming in a video clip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ACP Bhosale said the case was registered under Section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The deceased’s post-mortem was conducted on February 24, but no formal complaint was filed at that time, said the official.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will take the version of the deceased’s wife into account as well. Appropriate action will be taken based on our probe,\u201d the official said, acknowledging that the couple’s relationship was strained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
