CUTTACK, MAY 4 : Thinkers\u2019 Club in it\u2019s 118th Web based meeting discussed on the veteran poet Jayanta Mohapatra and his writings. This meeting was conducted in collaboration with the Delhi based organization, \u201cDelhi Utkal Asmita\u201d. The meet was inaugurated by the Additional Collector of Cuttack, Dr Ipsita Priyadarshini Mishra. In her inaugural speech, she said, that the effort of the \u201cThinkers\u2019 Club\u201d is commendable. She wished, this arrangement of the Club need to be more people oriented. She advised the intellectuals to participate more in the meeting and get the advantage of intellectual thoughts and discussions taken here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Kamala Prasad Mohapatra, Professor of the Shree Shree University, was the Chief Speaker of the meet. Prof Mohapatra said that, Jayanta Mohaptra concentrated his writings on the history, culture, tradition and human values that prevailed in the golden square of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Puri and Konarka. He wrote 26 books and was appreciated from different quarters for his unique appropriate combination of the words. In addition to the different prizes, he was honoured with the Padmasree award by the President of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Barada Prasanna Das, the President of the Club was the moderator of the meet. According to Mr Das, the poetic caliber of Jayanta Mohapatra was an exception. He was awarded the Kendra Sahitya Academy award for his book the \u201c Relationship\u201d. He is the first Indian to get an award on English writings by the Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Anita Panda, the President of the \u201cDelhi Utkal Asmita\u201d spoke something on the activities of their Club as preliminary information. She compared Prof Mohapatra with T.S.Iliot, the famous English Poet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sneha Mishra and Akhaya mohanty recited poems written by them. Professor Dr Nibedita Giri, offered the usual vote of thanks. It was said that, the purpose of this web meeting was to disseminate knowledge among the participants. All the people interested in acquiring knowledge on different aspects of life, culture, history and allied subjects need to join in the webinars conducted periodically by the club. Ms Pranshi Mahanta, Jyoti Malla and Bibhudutta Mohanty jointly carried out the technical aspects of the meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
