Bhubaneswar, May 18: Tata Power\u2019s solar manufacturing arm, TP Solar, has established itself as a key pillar of the company\u2019s renewable energy growth strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TP Solar\u2019s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, achieved significant production milestones during FY25\u2014manufacturing 3,291 MW of solar modules and 846 MW of solar cells. The plant is one of India\u2019s most advanced integrated solar manufacturing units and plays a crucial role in reducing reliance on imports while strengthening the domestic solar value chain. It has delivered an impressive PAT of Rs 422 crore on a revenue of Rs 5,337 crore in FY25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facility is equipped with cutting-edge TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) and Mono PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell) technologies, enabling the production of high-efficiency solar cells. It also integrates bifacial module technology, which enhances energy output by allowing panels to generate power from both the front and rear surfaces, maximizing land use and system efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The modules produced at the plant are fully Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) compliant, catering to the needs of Indian solar developers in utility and rooftop solar and supporting national targets for self-reliant clean energy manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financed by a $425 million investment from the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the Tirunelveli facility also stands out for its inclusive workforce model, employing over 80% women from surrounding communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
