Puri, Odisha, Jun 3 : In a major enforcement action, Nilkamal\u2019s Legal Team, in coordination with local police authorities, successfully raided two shop-cum-manufacturing units in Puri that were illegally producing and selling counterfeit Neelkamal mattresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The operation led to the confiscation of over 150 fake mattresses and more than 4,000 duplicate labels falsely bearing the Nilkamal\u2019s name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following a formal complaint, the raids were conducted with the support of Pipili Police Station, led by Investigating Officer Ms. Surma Swai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the unit operated by Mr. S.K. Abutair, the authorities seized:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf 135 counterfeit mattresses<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf 3,800 corner labels<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf 2,250 center labels<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Abutair was arrested on site for manufacturing and selling counterfeit goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the second unit, owned by Mr. Nazrul Ali, the raid yielded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf 15 counterfeit mattresses<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf 650 corner labels<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf 310 center labels<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Ali was not present during the raid and has been marked absconding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite temporary disruption due to crowd interference, both raids were completed successfully, and all counterfeit goods were seized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An FIR (No. 0300\/2025) was registered under Section 63 of the Copyright Act, 1957 and Sections 318(4) and 345(3) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. Legal proceedings are currently underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNilkamal maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards counterfeiters,\u201d said a company spokesperson. \u201cWe are committed to protecting our brand, our partners, and our customers. Legal action will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law.\u201d The company has also urged retailers and consumers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious sales or distribution of fake Neelkamal products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
