NEW DELHI, SEP 14 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday slammed the Congress party, accusing it of siding with terrorists groomed by Pakistan and protecting infiltrators, instead of supporting the Indian Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Congress, instead of supporting our armed forces, which destroyed the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan, was engaged in protecting infiltrators and anti-national forces,” the PM alleged, while addressing the public meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
‘Operation Sindoor’ was successful due to Ma Kamakhya’s blessings, Modi said, adding that he was honoured to be present on this sacred land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The PM also claimed, ‘The wounds inflicted by Jawaharlal Nehru, during the Chinese aggression in 1962, on the people of Assam are yet to heal.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prime Minister also asserted that the BJP would not allow infiltrators to grab land and their conspiracy to change the demography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Modi contrasted the BJP\u2019s infrastructure record in Assam with that of Congress rule. He said that while the grand old party governed the state for decades, it managed to build three bridges over the Brahmaputra, whereas under the BJP\u2019s rule, six such bridges have been constructed in the last ten years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prime Minister also hailed the BJP government\u2019s work in Assam, saying that they have begun to \u201ccorrect those wrongs and remove illegal claims,\u201d as he alleged Congress party of encroaching on farmers\u2019 land and places of worship during their rule in the state, as per PTI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEncroachments on farmers\u2019 land and on places of worship were carried out under the previous Congress governments. Since the formation of the BJP-led NDA government, we have begun to correct those wrongs and remove illegal claims,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn Assam, lakhs of acres have been reclaimed from infiltrators,\u201d he claimed, adding, \u201cThe BJP\u2019s objective is to protect the country from infiltrators and restore its integrity. I challenge those politicians who defend infiltrators to come forward and face this issue, let them show what efforts they have made to remove infiltrators, compared with the efforts we have made. Those who shelter infiltrators will have to pay the price; the nation will not forgive them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Modi also asserted that Assam is experiencing a 13 percent growth rate, attributing this to what he called the \u201cdouble\u2011engine\u201d government, the combined Centre and state BJP administrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that Assam was being developed as a health hub, and that the Northeast plays a crucial role in realising the dream of a \u201cViksit Bharat\u201d (developed India).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
