{"id":142057,"date":"2025-09-17T21:17:22","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T15:47:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/indusvalleytimes.com\/news\/?p=142057"},"modified":"2025-09-17T21:17:24","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T15:47:24","slug":"odisha-cm-mohan-majhi-honours-tata-steel-as-star-employer-for-providing-direct-employment-to-16833-persons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indusvalleytimes.com\/news\/odisha-cm-mohan-majhi-honours-tata-steel-as-star-employer-for-providing-direct-employment-to-16833-persons\/","title":{"rendered":"Odisha CM Mohan Majhi honours Tata Steel as \u2018star employer\u2019 for providing direct employment to\u00a016,833 persons"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"caps\"><em><strong>The steelmajor has already invested over Rs 1 lakh crore in the state and provided direct employment opportunities to 16,833 persons.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By Payal Banarjee<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bhubaneswar, Sept. 17:\u00a0<\/strong> Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has honoured Tata Steel as one of the \u2018star employers\u2019 in the state, during the foundation laying ceremony of 27 new industrial projects in Bhubaneswar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yaswant Kumar Pandey, chief human resource business partner \u2013 Steel, Tata Steel Kalinganagar and Rabindra Kumar Jamuda, President, Tata Steel Kalinganagar Workers\u2019 union received the token of appreciation on the occasion on Monday, an official communication said on Wednesday.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Odisha has been Tata Steel&#8217;s largest global investment destination; the company has already invested over Rs 1 lakh crore in the state and provided direct employment opportunities to 16,833 persons, over 55 per cent of whom are from Odisha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tata Steel operates three major integrated steel plants in the state \u2013 Tata Steel Kalinganagar and Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited in Jajpur and Tata Steel Meramandali in Dhenkanal. Tata Steel also has long established mining operations and ferro alloys plants across Odisha.&nbsp; Last year, the Company successfully commissioned India\u2019s largest blast furnace at Tata Steel Kalinganagar, with a total investment of Rs 27,000 crore in its Phase II expansion.
