NEW DELHI, JAN 2 : China may deploy military forces in Balochistan in the coming months, posing a \u201cserious and imminent threat\u201d to the region as well as to India, Baloch representative Mir Yar Baloch has warned in an open letter addressed to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the letter dated January 1, 2026, Mir Yar Baloch, writing as a Baloch representative of the Republic of Balochistan, cautioned that China could deploy troops in Balochistan if the region\u2019s \u201cdefence and freedom forces\u201d continue to be ignored. He described such a move as an \u201cunimaginable threat\u201d to the future of both Bharat and Balochistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShould the capabilities of Balochistan’s defence and freedom forces not be further bolstered and if they continue to be overlooked as per longstanding patterns, it is conceivable that China could deploy its military forces in Balochistan within a few months,\u201d the letter said. \u201cThe presence of Chinese boots on Balochistani soil without the will of the 60 million Baloch people, would pose an unimaginable threat and challenge to the futures of both Bharat and Balochistan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raising concerns over the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, he warned that the strategic alliance between Pakistan and China has reached what he described as the final phases of CPEC, making the situation more dangerous. He called for \u201ctangible, reciprocal cooperation\u201d between Bharat and Balochistan, arguing that the threats faced by both are \u201cgenuine and imminent.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Baloch highlighted what he described as centuries-old historical and cultural ties between Bharat and Balochistan. He cited sacred sites such as the Hinglaj Mata Temple (Nani Mandir) as symbols of shared heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The letter also praised the Modi government\u2019s actions under Operation Sindoor, saying that the operation targeted \u201cterrorism hubs facilitated by Pakistan\u201d and demonstrated \u201cexemplary courage and a steadfast commitment to regional security and justice\u201d following the Pahalgam terror attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The letter concluded by expressing hope for stronger collaboration between what Mir Yar Baloch described as \u201cour two great nations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
