{"id":149929,"date":"2026-03-24T18:42:52","date_gmt":"2026-03-24T13:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/indusvalleytimes.com\/news\/?p=149929"},"modified":"2026-03-24T18:42:53","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T13:12:53","slug":"thousands-gain-as-tpsodl-energises-berhampur-substation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indusvalleytimes.com\/news\/thousands-gain-as-tpsodl-energises-berhampur-substation\/","title":{"rendered":"Thousands Gain as TPSODL Energises Berhampur Substation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"caps\"><strong>\u2022 Feeder network strengthens key residential &amp; commercial areas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Ensures reduced outages and improved voltage stability<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By Prakash Panigrahi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Berhampur, March:<\/strong> TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited, a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has commissioned a new 33\/11 KV Primary Substation (New Khalikote College PSS) under BED-1, to strengthen power infrastructure and enhance supply reliability in Berhampur and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The newly constructed PSS is equipped with two 10 MVA Power Transformers (PTRs), significantly improving load management and ensuring better voltage stability for consumers. The substation is fed through two incoming 33 kV from New Medical PSS (1.6 km) and Ambagada (7 km), ensuring a reliable power supply system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With 7.5 km of multiple 11 kV outgoing feeders\u2014covering Hill Patna, City Hospital, Old Bus Stand and Tata Benz area, SBI main (Pani Tanki Area)- the distribution network in key commercial and residential belts has been strengthened. This development will improve supply quality, reduce outages, and address voltage fluctuation issues to a considerable extent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Approximately 15,000 consumers will benefit from this new PSS. It will cater to major areas including Hill Patna locality, Tata Benz area, commercial establishments around Old Bus Stand, and the SBI Main (Pani Tanki area), thereby supporting both residential and commercial growth in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO of TPSODL, stated: \u201cThe New Khalikote College PSS will significantly ease the load on existing infrastructure and improve overall service reliability. This initiative reflects our continued commitment to strengthening the power distribution network and delivering quality electricity services to consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TPSODL continues to focus on infrastructure development across Southern Odisha, with ongoing investments in capacity augmentation and network expansion, ensuring reliable and efficient power supply for
