NEW DELHI, MAR 27 : In a symbolic gesture during the ongoing West Asia conflict, Iran has written messages thanking the \u201cpeople of India\u201d on missiles launched towards Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visuals, shared online by Consulate General of Iran in Mumbai and Iranian state media, show personnel from Iran\u2019s Aerospace Force inscribing notes such as \u201cThank you to people of India\u201d on missiles using blue markers before launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Similar messages were reportedly addressed to people in Spain, Pakistan and Germany, signalling what appears to be a broader outreach to nations perceived as sympathetic to Tehran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The messages were seen during what Iran described as the 83rd wave of its military campaign, part of Operation True Promise 4, carried out by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as per Iranian network Press TV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an official statement, the IRGC said the latest wave targeted key American and Israeli military assets across the region. These included infrastructure such as oil storage facilities in Ashdod, military sites near Modi\u2019in, and a US military information exchange centre, Press TV report mentioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement also listed strikes on American bases at Al-Dhafra and Al-Udeiri, as well as facilities at Ali Al-Salem Air Base and Sheikh Isa Base. Iran said it deployed a mix of long- and medium-range missiles, precision-strike systems, and drones, claiming the operation was carried out successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reference to India comes against the backdrop of recent developments that have highlighted relatively warm ties between the two countries during the conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iran recently confirmed that it is allowing safe passage for Indian vessels through the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz, even as restrictions remain in place for ships linked to the United States and its allies. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said India was among a handful of countries considered \u201cfriendly\u201d, whose ships would not be blocked despite the war-like situation in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another factor behind the messaging appears to be the visible humanitarian support extended by Indians, particularly from Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In recent weeks, civilians in parts of Jammu and Kashmir have organised donation drives to aid people affected by the conflict in Iran. Contributions have ranged from cash and jewellery to household items, with many stories of personal sacrifice emerging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One widely shared example involved a Kashmiri woman donating gold preserved for nearly three decades in memory of her late husband. The Iranian Embassy in India publicly acknowledged such gestures, expressing deep gratitude and saying the support would \u201cnever be forgotten\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
INDIAN CHILDREN DONATE PIGGY BANKS TO IRAN<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \u201cIran in India\u201d shared an emotional post on X highlighting a humanitarian gesture by Indian children, who donated their piggy banks to support students of Minab School in Iran. The embassy said the gift came from \u201csmall yet love-filled hearts,\u201d with children offering their savings to help peers affected by the ongoing conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Calling it a symbol of compassion, the mission said such gestures would never be forgotten, expressing gratitude to India for the support. The post comes amid global attention on the Minab school tragedy, where many children were among the victims of a missile strike during the ongoing conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The development also highlights India\u2019s delicate position \u2014 balancing humanitarian sentiment among its people, historical ties with Iran, and its broader diplomatic relationships with the US and Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
India has condemned the crisis in Middle East and has repeatedly stressed dialogue and diplomacy to bring resolution to the war that began after the US-Israel strikes on Iran on February 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
