UTTAR PRADESH,MAY 13 : Prateek Yadav, the younger son of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and stepbrother of Akhilesh Yadav, passed away at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civil Hospital in Lucknow early on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prateek, a fitness enthusiast and owner of a prominent gym in Lucknow, was 38 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to sources, he was brought to the hospital by Aman Singh Bisht, his wife Aparna Yadav\u2019s brother, at around 6 am, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Chief Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital, Dr. DC Pandey, Prateek Yadav had no pulse and his heart had stopped functioning when he was brought to the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sources said Aparna Yadav, a BJP leader who is currently in Assam to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Himanta Biswa Sarma, left immediately for Lucknow after receiving the news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cause of Prateek\u2019s death has not yet been disclosed. However, sources close to the family claimed that he had been unwell for some time and was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow in critical condition on April 30 due to an illness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sources further claimed that after spending three days at Medanta and feeling somewhat better, Prateek returned home without formal discharge from the doctors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Aparna\u2019s brother is accompanying the body to King George’s Medical University for the autopsy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The demise of Shri Pratik Yadav Ji is extremely heartbreaking! May God grant peace to the departed soul. Humble tribute!” the Samajwadi Party said in a brief post on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Notably, Prateek Yadav was the son of Mulayam Singh Yadav\u2019s second wife, Sadhana Gupta. He studied at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite belonging to one of the country\u2019s most prominent political families, Prateek stayed away from politics and focused on his real estate and fitness businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prateek owned a gym called \u201cThe Fitness Planet\u201d in Lucknow and also ran an organisation named \u201cJeev Aashray,\u201d which provides treatment, food, care, and rescue services for street dogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prateek and Aparna had a love marriage and tied the knot on December 4, 2011, in Mulayam Singh Yadav\u2019s ancestral village, Safai in Etawah, after a courtship of 10 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It may be recalled that in January this year, Prateek had made serious allegations against Aparna in a social media post, calling her \u201cselfish\u201d and \u201can evil spirit.\u201d Within eight hours, he shared another Instagram post expressing his desire to seek a divorce. However, both posts were deleted a few hours later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He later posted a video on Instagram claiming that the posts about their separation were the result of a major argument between him and Aparna on January 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, he later said that things had improved and that the couple had reconciled, dismissing speculation about their separation. The post hinting at reconciliation effectively ended rumours of a possible divorce between Prateek and Aparna Yadav.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aparna Yadav is currently associated with the BJP and serves as the Vice-Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women\u2019s Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
