Paradip,  July, 6:<\/strong> Marking a significant milestone in global maritime decarbonization, the Paradip Port Authority (PPA) hosted a high-level delegation from Japan’s Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company along with senior executives from the ACME Group. The Japanese delegation was led by Shri Hideaki Akase, Managing Executive Officer, and Shri Masahiko Naito, Executive Officer, Mitsubishi Gas Chemical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation held detailed discussions with Paradip Port Authority Chairman Shri P. L. Haranadh and Deputy Chairperson Shri T. Venu Gopal to explore Paradip’s vast green energy export potential and strengthen collaboration for the development of a world-class green fuel export ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit follows the landmark 10-year agreement under which ACME Group will supply 100,000 tonnes of green methanol annually to Mitsubishi Gas Chemical from its upcoming facility at Paradip. The project forms part of Odisha’s ambitious Rs 67,000 crore investment in green hydrogen, green ammonia, and green methanol, positioning the state as a major global clean energy hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the occasion, Shri P. L. Haranadh, Chairman, Paradip Port Authority, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Paradip Port is fully equipped and strategically prepared to spearhead the international shift toward sustainable clean energy. With secured global offtake agreements and world-class port infrastructure, we are positioning Paradip as a leading gateway for green energy exports, sustainable marine fuels, and clean cargo logistics.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interaction highlighted Paradip Port’s strategic role in enabling India’s green energy ambitions by providing integrated port infrastructure capable of handling large-scale exports of green hydrogen derivatives and other clean energy products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the International Maritime Organization (IMO) continues to strengthen global decarbonization targets for the shipping industry, the development of reliable green fuel supply chains has become increasingly important. The collaboration between Mitsubishi Gas Chemical, ACME Group, and Paradip Port Authority is expected to establish a secure, efficient, and globally competitive value chain from production to international maritime export.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With advanced cargo handling facilities, deep-draft berths, and robust multimodal connectivity, Paradip Port is well positioned to support high-volume exports while meeting the stringent safety, environmental, and operational standards of the global maritime and chemical industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
