Guwahati, Sep 26 : Assam Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika today participated in three election campaign meetings at Shani Char under the Dhing Assembly Constituency and Chitalmari Char under the Lahorighat Assembly Constituency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing the gatherings, Minister Hazarika called upon the people to liberate Lahorighat from what he described as the politics of hereditary domination and to become an integral part of the transformative march of development spearheaded by Hon\u2019ble Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister Hazarika alleged that the political establishment that had traditionally dominated the char areas had deprived girls from those regions of opportunities for higher education and had failed to provide land pattas to poor and landless families, while instead leaving many burdened with the stigma of being categorised as D-voters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighting the long-standing problems confronting the char areas, Minister Hazarika also assured the people that initiatives would be undertaken for the establishment of high schools and medical facilities in those regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Referring to what he described as the spontaneous and overwhelming participation of thousands of people at the campaign meetings, Minister Hazarika asserted that NDA candidate Devashish Sarma would secure victory by a substantial margin, while taking a political swipe at the Congress by claiming that the party would be relegated to third position in the by-election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At another election campaign meeting held at the Bebejia Ranga Mancha in the Raha Assembly Constituency, Asom Gana Parishad President and Assam Cabinet Minister Atul Bora, along with the party\u2019s Working President and Cabinet Minister Keshab Mahanta, addressed the gathering. Apart from participating in several election campaign meetings across the Samaguri Assembly Constituency, party leaders also inaugurated the election office of the Garhjan Mandal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deuri today inaugurated the election campaign office of the Morigaon Town Mandal BJP. Biswanath MLA Pallab Lochan Das participated in Shakti Kendra and booth-level meetings organised under the Dandua\u2013Bhurbandha Mandal and the Kapili\u2013Dolongghat Mandal of the Morigaon Assembly Constituency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, election campaign meetings were organised at booths across every Mandal under Morigaon district, while workers of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and the Mahila Morcha carried the campaign directly to the people through intensive door-to-door outreach programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NDA candidate Devashish Sarma today addressed approximately 20 public meetings across the Nagaon\u2013Batadrawa Assembly Constituency, while also engaging directly with citizens and exchanging views with the electorate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha organised 37 courtyard and community,house meetings across the Nagaon\u2013Batadrawa, Raha, Samaguri, Rupahihat and Dhing Assembly Constituencies of Nagaon district. Similarly, under the initiative of the Other Backward Classes Morcha, Nagaon District, a total of 54 courtyard meetings were organised across 14 Mandals in connection with the by-election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These meetings witnessed the participation of Mandal Presidents, booth-level Prabharis assigned from the Mandals, district Prabharis deployed across the Mandals, as well as State-level Prabharis, among other organisational functionaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mahila Morcha also conducted a series of courtyard meetings across several booths falling under the Samaguri Mandal, further intensifying the party\u2019s grassroots election campaign.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
