Cuttack/Odisha,Oct 30 : Central Range IGP Dr Satyajit Naik has appealed to the public, particularly the youth, to celebrate festivals and social occasions with joy, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility, emphasising that human life and public safety must always remain above loud music and temporary entertainment.

In a public awareness message, Dr Naik said that the true spirit of festivals lies in spreading happiness, brotherhood, harmony and mutual respect rather than creating noise and inconvenience for others. He cautioned that excessive DJ sound, uncontrolled processions, reckless driving and irresponsible behaviour could turn moments of celebration into tragic incidents.

A few hours of entertainment should never put a precious human life at risk, he stressed. Appealing especially to young people, the IGP encouraged them to enjoy music, dance and cultural programmes while remaining conscious of their own safety and that of others. He urged people to strictly avoid drunk driving, dangerous stunts on moving vehicles, traffic violations and activities that obstruct public movement.

Dr Naik also expressed concern over the impact of excessive noise on elderly people, children, patients and students, who often suffer due to high-volume sound systems.

He called upon puja committees, festival organisers, DJ operators and volunteers to follow prescribed noise limits, permitted timings and administrative guidelines. He further emphasised that maintaining public order, respecting traffic regulations and cooperating with the police and administration are collective responsibilities.

According to him, responsible celebrations reflect the maturity and sensitivity of society. Highlighting the importance of protecting families from the pain of avoidable accidents, Dr Naik made an emotional appeal: “Let the voice of humanity rise above DJ noise. Let us celebrate safety, not accidents.

Let us save lives and protect the smiles of families.” His message carries a simple but powerful appeal: celebrations should spread happiness, not fear, and every festival should become an occasion to strengthen humanity, discipline and public safety. DJ No, Life Yes should become a collective commitment.
