Kolkata,\nDEC 20:The IPL Player Auction 2020 turned out to be a big occasion for the\nuncapped India players as many of them were sold for more than INR 1 crore. As\nanticipated, India’s youngest double centurion in the Vijay Hazare Trophy\nYashasvi Jaiswal got a heavy deal as he was sold for Rs 2.4 crore to Rajasthan\nRoyals while Varun Chakravarthy once again grabbed a heft deal despite playing\njust one match in last year\u2019s IPL for Kings XI Punjab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here\nwe take a look at the uncapped youngsters who got a hot deal on Thursday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yashasvi\nJaiswal<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yashasvi\nJaiswal’s struggle story is now well-known in Indian cricket circles. The\n17-year-old, who once sold pani-puris for living is now a millionaire as\nRajasthan Royals snatch Jaiswal up for Rs 2.40 crore in the auction in Kolkata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\n2015, Yashasvi etched his name in the record books by hitting 319 not out and\nregistering bowling figures of 13 for 99 in the Giles Shield Cricket Tournament\nin Mumbai to set a record for the highest score and most wickets in a match in\na school-level competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This\nseason, Yashasvi was in fine form for Mumbai in the prestigious Vijay Hazare\nTrophy in September-October. He hit 203 off 154 balls with 12 sixes and 17\nboundaries for Mumbai, thereby, becoming the youngest batsman to hit a double\nhundred in List A cricket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nyoungster is currently gearing up to fly to South Africa with the India\nUnder-19 team for a preparatory tour that will be followed by the World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ravi\nBishnoi<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leg-break\nbowler Ravi Bishnoi, who is part of India’s Under-19 World Cup squad, was\nbought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs 2 crore on Thursday. Bishnoi grabbed a deal\nthat was 10 times of his base price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though\nBishnoi played just 2 matches at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy but he took 12\nwickets in them at an economy of 4.37 that was enough for the franchises to see\nthe potential in the 19-year-old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nRajasthan bowler made his List A debut only in September this year, playing for\nhis state in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Just a month after his List A debut,\nBishnoi was named in the India A squad for the 2019-20 Deodhar Trophy. In his\nshort career of six List A and six T20 matches, Bishnoi has picked up eight and\nsix wickets respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nis also a part of India\u2019s squad for the upcoming U-19 World Cup to be held in\nSouth Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Virat\nSingh<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Virat\nSingh, who is also in India’s U-19 World Squad, was bought by the Sunrisers\nHyderabad for Rs 1. 9 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\n22-year-old left-hand batsman came into light after he scored 343 runs in ten\ninnings at an average of 57.16 and strike rate of 142.32 at the Syed Mushtaq\nAli Trophy last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I’ve\nhad 200 missed calls and some 300 messages already,” Virat told ESPNcricinfo\nafter he was sold to SRH. “I also have to treat my team-mates to dinner.\nThe next game is in my hometown [Jamshedpur], so maybe we’ll have a small\ncelebration when we assemble again ahead of our next Ranji game against\nHaryana.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Priyam\nGarg<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Priyam\nGarg, who is India’s captain for the Under-19 World Cup in South Africa next\nyear, will play the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad as the franchise payed Rs 1.5\ncrore for the Uttar Pradesh batsman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Priyam,\na double-century on Ranji Trophy debut, has 814 runs to his name in 10 matches\nof Vijay Hazare Trophy matches in the 2018-19 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\n12 first-class matches so far, Garg has scored 867 runs, with two centuries, at\nan amazing average of 66.69. In 15 List A matches, Garg has 539 runs with one\ncentury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kartik\nTyagi<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kartik\nTyagi, another U-19 player, was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.3 crore from\na base price of Rs 20 lakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\n19-year-old fast bowler from Uttar Pradesh recently claimed 9 wickets in five\ngames at the youth ODI series in England earlier this year. He then picked dup\n6 wickets in 3 matches in the U-19 series vs Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Varun\nChakravarthy<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Varun\nChakravarthy, who grabbed the joint-highest bid with Jaydev Unadkat for Rs 8.4\ncrore in the IPL auction last year, was released by Kings XI Punjab ahead of\nthe IPL 2020 Auction as the 28-year-old had a forgetful season last year where\nhe played just one match for the franchise, giving away 25 runs in his first\nover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite\nthat, Varun Chakravarthy has triggered a biding war between Royal Challengers\nBangalore and KKR in Kolkata on Thursday. At the end, the Tamil Nadu spinner\nwas bought by KKR for Rs 4 crore, the highest among the uncapped India players.\nHe had set himself at a base price of Rs 30 lakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
